How to register a company in India

To register a company in India, you can follow these steps:

  • Choose a business structureThe business structure you choose will affect your income tax return and compliance requirements. 
  • Apply for name approvalGet approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) for a unique and compliant name for your business. This process usually takes 24–48 hours. 
  • Prepare documentsDraft the e-Memorandum of Association and e-Articles of Association. You’ll also need to get a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for all directors. 
  • File incorporation applicationWithin 20 days of receiving the name approval letter, file an incorporation application with the MCA using the SPICe+ e-form. 
  • Submit documents and pay feesSubmit the required documents and pay the necessary fees. 
  • Receive certificate of incorporationOnce your application is verified, the Registrar of Companies (RoC) will issue a Certificate of Incorporation. This certificate is a legal document that confirms your company’s existence and incorporation. 

You’ll also need to obtain a PAN and TAN, open a company bank account, and provide proof of the company’s registered office
